Strategic support

From ambitious idea to recognised destination

Brendon combines destination development, place marketing, commercially financed international event delivery and decades of operational coastal experience to help locations become better known, better used and more valuable to visitors and communities.

Blue-space activation

Brendon helps destinations connect local people and visiting communities with their blue space. He identifies what is needed, from access, facilities and equipment to skilled delivery, inclusive programmes and a clear plan for participation. The aim is to create the right mix of everyday opportunities, memorable visitor experiences and events that suit the location. Commercial sponsorship and partnerships can help overcome financial hurdles, fund activation and build a sustainable model that benefits the community, local businesses and the destination.

Water-safety impact

Safe practice is central to a successful coastal destination. Drawing on his experience as a teacher, lifeguard and founder of Above Water, Brendon helps communities strengthen water-safety education and drowning-prevention awareness. He connects schools, clubs, operators and visitor-facing businesses around clear messages and practical understanding of local conditions. By embedding safety into activities, public communication and the visitor welcome, coastal communities can model responsible behaviour for tourists and help people enjoy the water with greater knowledge, confidence and respect.

Stakeholder leadership

Brendon brings blue-space stakeholders together to turn individual ambition into collective advantage. Councils, harbour teams, clubs, activity providers, educators, emergency services and hospitality businesses each have a part to play. He helps establish shared priorities, strengthen communication and identify opportunities to pool resources, coordinate activity and support one another. A joined-up approach can improve the visitor experience, widen community participation and create more value for the local economy, while giving partners a clear purpose and practical steps to move forward.

Destination marketing

From subtle improvements to a destination’s story and visitor welcome to the international spotlight of a major event, Brendon helps places turn their coastal identity into reasons to visit, take part and return. He connects distinctive experiences with partnerships, compelling content and opportunities for wider media attention. His experience of bidding for, commercially financing and delivering an international SUP World Cup brings practical insight into event-led tourism. The focus is lasting value: stronger recognition, local business opportunities and a legacy beyond the event itself.
