THE PERFECT SEPTEMBER PADDLE!

Meadfoot Beach, Torquay | Approx. 5km | Guided Adventure SUP

Join world-record-breaking adventure paddleboarder Brendon Prince for a very special September morning on the water.

This isn’t a race and it isn’t just a guided paddle. It’s an opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful stretches of the English Riviera coastline while learning some of the skills, knowledge and planning that go into a real SUP adventure.

THE PLAN

Meet: 7.30am at the ABOVE WATER Hub, Meadfoot Beach, next to the café
On the water: 8.00am
Distance: Approximately 5km
Conditions: We will only paddle if conditions are suitable and the final route will be decided on the morning.

Under Brendon’s guidance, we’ll explore the coastline while looking at the things every paddler should understand before heading out on an adventure:

• Weather and wind
• Tides and tidal flow
• Route planning
• Reading the water
• Equipment and preparation
• What to do when conditions change
• Building confidence and competence on your board
• Making good decisions on the water

Most importantly, it will be a fun, relaxed group paddle in a fantastic location.

WHO IS IT FOR?

From relative beginners through to experienced paddlers, everyone should take something away from the morning.

You must be able to comfortably stand and paddle your board and be capable of completing approximately 5km.

We are aiming for flat, favourable conditions, although this is the sea, so you should be comfortable with some gentle movement and changing conditions.

WHAT TO BRING

Please wear clothing appropriate for the conditions and remember that it can feel considerably cooler on the water. Bring:

• Water/drink
• Suitable paddling clothing
• Sun protection where appropriate
• Any personal medication you may require
• A change of warm, dry clothing for afterwards

COST

£25 – Bring Your Own Kit
Bring your own suitable SUP, paddle, PFD/buoyancy aid and leash.

£50 – Equipment Included
We provide your SUP, paddle, PFD/buoyancy aid, leash and wetsuit. You will still need to bring suitable clothing for the conditions.

Payment is made on the morning by cash or card.

IMPORTANT

This is an outdoor sea-based activity and is therefore weather and conditions dependent. Safety comes first. The route may be changed, shortened, postponed or cancelled if Brendon considers the conditions unsuitable.

All participants will receive a safety briefing before entering the water and must follow the instructions of the session leader throughout the paddle.
