Promoting Water Safety: My Lifelong Mission
Every paddle I take is driven by one purpose: to raise awareness about water safety and save lives. In 2017, I founded Above Water, a charity dedicated to empowering school-age children with essential water safety and drowning prevention skills. Through engaging water safety hub sessions, we train young leaders to bring this vital knowledge back to their schools, ensuring their peers learn how to stay safe on, in, and around water. By equipping the next generation with these life-saving skills, Above Water strives to create a ripple effect of safety, helping children make informed decisions that could one day save a life—their own or someone else’s.

Water Safety educational visits

In 2024, over 100,000 children had water safety and drowning prevention training from Brendon.

Brendon leads water safety talks throughout the UK for the Charity Above Water.  These can be multi-school training talks to support the national curriculum delivery of water safety or presentations/ assemblies for single schools.  It can cost the charity Above Water up to £500 to stage a multi-school young leader training day, if you are interested in sponsoring Above Water to deliver one of this essential life skill sessions, please contact Brendon.
